Professor Adebayo Otitoloju is an accomplished environmental management expert, business leader, consultant, and public policy advocate with over three decades of experience providing strategic solutions to environmental and infrastructure challenges across Nigeria and beyond. He has built an outstanding reputation as a trusted adviser to government institutions, multinational corporations, financial institutions, and development organisations on environmental compliance, sustainability, environmental impact assessment, and risk management.

His extensive consulting experience covers major infrastructure and industrial projects, including railway developments, seaport expansion, highway construction, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants, and oil and gas operations. Professor Otitoloju has held several executive leadership positions, including Managing Director of Unilag Consult Limited, where he successfully led multidisciplinary consultancy services, negotiated and delivered high-value projects, and developed professional training programmes for both public and private sector organisations.

He also served as Senior Research Adviser to the Corporate Environment Department of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, providing strategic environmental advisory services to one of Africa's leading energy companies. Beyond environmental consulting, he has demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial and corporate governance expertise by contributing to the establishment and management of companies in marine transportation, boat manufacturing, hospitality, and environmental consultancy. As an academic, he has 179 publications, composed of 98 articles in international and national peer reviewed journals, 3 books, 4 monographs, 12 conference papers and 65 commissioned works and contributions to environmental assessment reports.

He is a committed academic mentor and has successfully supervised and graduated twenty (20) PhD candidates. His research areas of focus include heavy metals monitoring and biological effects; crude oil effects and loss of bioactivity; effects of pesticides on target and non-target organisms; genotoxic effects of pollutants; and N-terminal sequence analysis and identification of genes responsible for heavy metal resistance. He was a recipient of the 2004 Development Co-Operation Prize by the Belgian Government and the World Laboratory Fellowship by the ICSC Switzerland.

Through SETPOM, Professor Otitoloju continues to champion partnerships between government, industry, academia, and civil society to promote sustainable development, pollution mitigation, and responsible environmental stewardship. His blend of executive leadership, consulting expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and commitment to national development has established him as one of Nigeria's foremost voices on environmental sustainability and strategic infrastructure development.

Professor K. Olusola Ogunwenmo is a Professor of Molecular Biology and Cytogenetics. He had broad training in curriculum development and a research base in ecology, genetics and systematics, culminating in a PhD in Cell Biology and Genetics. From 1997, he applied his training to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of development projects and their effects on ecosystems.

Overall, he has over 30 years of cognate experience in teaching, research and university administration, including six years as Vice Chancellor and 15 years in EIA consulting and environmental management. His current research focuses on the application of molecular biology tools in gene editing, sequencing and expression, as well as computational biology.

He has published over 80 works, including journal articles in reputable national and international journals, commissioned projects and books. He received a 2005–2008 fellowship from the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS), Italy, and UNESCO for cutting-edge research in genetic engineering and biotechnology at the National Centre for Genetic Resources & Biotechnology/EMBRAPA, Brazil, South America.

He undertook biodiversity and phylogenetic research internationally at the Botany Department and Herbarium of the Linnean Society of London; the Natural History Museum in London and Washington, D.C.; and Camp Cretaceous, Wyoming, for dinosaur excavation and taphonomic/palaeontology research. He was a visiting Professor at Asia-Pacific International University, Thailand, in 2002, is a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London (FLS), and is a Chartered Biologist of the Royal Society of Biology (CBiol), UK.

Temitope O. SOGBANMU PhD, MEnv Dr Temitope Sogbanmu is an Ecotoxicologist and Lecturer in the Ecotoxicology and Conservation Unit of the Department of Zoology, University of Lagos with a BSc in Zoology and Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management. She has several years of research and consulting experience in the subject area with publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her areas of contribution to the field include environmental monitoring and biological effects of petroleum products, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and coastal sediments. She was a Visiting Researcher at the King's College London in 2016. Her current research is on developmental biomarkers and mechanisms of toxicity in early life stages of fish exposed to xenobiotics. She is a recipient of a number of awards and scholarships such as the L'Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science in Sub-Sahara Africa Award, 2016 and Training scholarship by Tropical Biology Association under the Developing Research Capacity Among Environmental Scientists (DRECA) project, 2010. Dr Sogbanmu has received over $15000 in individual research grants and more in collaboration with other researchers from organisations such as the Association of Commonwealth Universities and PADI Foundation, USA. Her professional affiliations are Society of Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM), Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), Society of Toxicology (SOT), Organization for Women in Science in the Developing World (OWSD), Zoological Society of Nigeria (ZSN) and Nigeria Tropical Biology Association (NTBA). She is a member, Board of Trustees, SETPOM and Board of Directors, Detailz Graphix Ltd. Dr Sogbanmu is happily married with children.

Nnamdi Amaeze is an experienced environmental professional, project manager and academic. He is a registered professional biologist and agrologist with the Alberta College of Professional Biologists, BC College of Biologists and BC Institute of Agrologists, respectively. He is also a certified project management professional with the Project Management Institute (PMI).

He divides his time between managing environmental restoration projects in Western Canada, flying to remote well sites as part of Canada's orphaned-well restoration programmes, and teaching environmental science courses to college students.

He was formerly a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lagos and a Sessional Instructor at the University of Windsor, Ontario. He currently serves as Teaching Faculty at Northern Lights College in Fort St. John, British Columbia.

He is a well-cited author with numerous peer-reviewed research publications to his credit. He is a father of two and enjoys cycling for leisure.

Dr Kafilat Adebola Bawa-Allah is a first class graduate of B.Sc. Zoology. She holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management. She is a seasoned researcher with several years of experience in research. Her area of specialization is heavy metals, focusing on their single and joint toxicities and the sub-lethal effects on aquatic organisms. She also researches enzymes and proteins and how they confer resistance on aquatic organisms exposed to heavy metals. She has several publications in reputable journals.

Dr. (Mrs) Funmilayo Doherty is a distinguished academic, researcher, and mentor with a passion for empowering women through education and skills development. She is a Chief Lecturer and Director of the Research Support and Grants Management Center at Yaba College of Technology. She currently coordinates the Girls’ Education and Skills Partnership (GESP), an FCDO/UNICEF initiative where she champions transformative change in girls’ education and technology. Under her leadership, GESP has successfully trained over 5,000 young girls since 2024. Her unwavering passion for girls’ education in technology continues to open doors for thousands of young Nigerian women, equipping them with the skills to thrive in the digital economy. With a Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management and certification as a Quality Assurance Assessor under the National Skills Qualification Framework, Dr. Doherty brings together strong academic expertise and extensive professional experience, including participation in multiple international research projects. She has trained and mentored hundreds of early-career professionals, and she is a strong advocate for inclusive education, gender equity, and a healthy balance between work and family life.

Currently, she serves as Chairperson of the African Foundation for Quality e-Learning for TVET (Kenya) and is a past President of the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM). She is a Member of the Reference Group for the Federal Government–UNICEF Country Programme Development (2028–2032) and has previously served as Coordinator of the Yaba College of Technology UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre. She is also a UNESCO-UNEVOC Greening TVET Ambassador, a consultant to the Commonwealth of Learning (Canada), and an alumna of the UNEVOC TVET Leadership Programme (Germany) and the Leaders in TVET Programme (Singapore). In addition, she is an Associate of the International Network for Advancing Science and Policy (United Kingdom). Her academic and leadership contributions have been widely recognised, with presentations across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Beyond her professional work, Dr. Doherty is a Diocesan Reader in the Diocese of Lagos (Anglican Communion). She has been happily married for 25 years and is a devoted mother of four.

Dr. Aneyo Idowu Ayisat is the President of the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM), Nigeria, and a Lecturer in the Ecotoxicology and Conservation Unit, Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science, University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is an environmental toxicologist whose research focuses on ecotoxicology, microplastics pollution, aquatic ecosystem health, environmental monitoring, forensic toxicology, and the application of artificial intelligence to environmental sustainability. Dr. Aneyo has led and contributed to several nationally and internationally funded research projects, with an impressive record of scholarly publications and multidisciplinary collaborations. She is passionate about advancing environmental science through research, policy engagement, capacity development, and strategic partnerships that promote sustainable environmental management, pollution mitigation, and global livelihoods.
